A free interactive story that teaches you to use AI

You are Victor Frankenstein's assistant.

He has gone to bed. The thing on the table has just opened its eyes, and it is looking at you. What you type to it decides what it becomes.

Plate I. It opens its eyes.

The idea

The AI skill is the verb.

Each module is an interactive story adapted from a classic novel, and the way you learn to use AI is by using AI to survive the story. The skill is not a topic laid over the story. It is how you move through it.

Learn by doing

No lesson is only text. Reading is the scaffolding around what you try, never the substance.

The model gets it wrong, on purpose

You watch it fail in exactly the way the lesson is about, and then you get the tools to fix it.

Your craft is the choice

How well you ask changes what happens next. A weak prompt never locks you out. It changes the story, and you always finish.

Nothing to pay, nothing to connect

Everything runs on a built-in simulated engine. No network, no API key, and no AI bill, ever.

Module 00 · First Contact

Four skills in fifty minutes.

after Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, Mary Shelley, 1818

~50 min · free · six chapters · four endings · ends unresolved

It has no words.
  1. Ch 0

It opens its eyes. ARIA introduces herself and is immediately, subtly wrong.

    Orientation
  2. Ch 1

It has no words. You watch it assemble language one piece at a time.

    What a model actually is
  3. Ch 2

First words. Vague instruction goes badly. You rewrite.

    Prompt craft
  4. Ch 3

Victor's notebook, open on the bench. You ask it what it sees.

    Vision and documents
  5. Ch 4

It tells you something about the village that is not true.

    Catching hallucinations
  6. Ch 5

The gate. Lights on the road. One prompt. Then —

    Everything at once

Eight Concept Cards

A reference deck you keep, searchable, and exportable to Markdown or Anki for after the story.

Live Mode, only if you want it

Add your own API key for real model calls. It is off until you turn it on, and every exercise works without it.

Keyboard all the way

Every screen and every exercise can be reached without a mouse.

The creature is loose.

Everything you taught it, it took with it.

The Art of Asking — Module 01 — is the hunt.
